Dancehall Artist Sonni Bali is dead

Sonni Balli, a Ghanaian ragga/dancehall afrobeat artist, has died.

Mark Darlington, a Ghanaian music producer and talent management living in the United Kingdom, confirmed the death on Facebook.

“SONNI BALLI How could you do this bro! I wished you a happy birthday just this past Monday! This is not fair! I am devastated and heartbroken! How????
Sonniballi RaggaDon is gone!!!” he wrote.

Skrewfaze and other musicians have already begun to pay tribute to him.

“Oh MY GODFATHER!! Why soo soon DADA ? Why ??? OH SONNI BALLI !! ” he wrote.

Sonni Balli, from the United Kingdom, is known for songs such as “Love My Ex” and “When You Are Gone,” among others.

His appearances on Mary Agyapong’s ‘Adidede’ and Slim Busterr’s ‘Georgina’ were among his most notable claims to fame.

When the ragga/dancehall music began in Ghana roughly 25 years ago, he was one of the early pioneers.
