Alcohol Is Not Good; Celebrities Shouldn’t Be Allowed To Advertise It– Ambolley

While most Ghanaian celebrities are calling to the ban on celebrity ads on alcoholic beverages to be lifted, highlife musician, Gyedu Blay Amolley, has a differing opinion.

He has said something that can make the likes of Edem, Wendy Shay, Shatta Wale, Afia Schwarzenegger and others pushing for the cause feel uncomfortable.

According to Ambolley, the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) should keep on for enforcing the law that prevents celebs from adverting for alcoholic brands.

In an interview with MzGee on 3FM’s ShowBuzz, he asserted that alcohol is destructive and he believes celebrities no well-meaning celebrities will plug such products.

“All those celebrities who have proper sense will not endorse alcohol because alcohol is not good,” he noted.

“Celebrities endorsing alcoholic beverages shouldn’t be allowed at all. Music and alcohol shouldn’t be allowed because it’ll be enticing the youth. If you look at music videos, it all features young boys and girls. Alcohol must not be in the system for the young boys and girls to feast on it,” he added.
