President Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, Morgan Freeman, and others have been barred from entering Russia.
President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, as well as Hollywood celebrity Morgan Freeman, were among almost 1,000 Americans permanently barred from visiting Russ!a on Monday.
Oscar winner Freeman, 84, was ranked 840th out of 963 people on the list published on Saturday. His films include “Se7en,” “The Shawshank Redemption,” and Clint Eastwood’s “Unforgiven.”
Leading US politicians and vocal journalists, as well as Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, were among those accused of fostering “Russo.pho.bia.”
“A well-known film star who in September 2017 made a video message accusing Russia of conspiring against the United States and advocating for a struggle against our country,” according to the Kremlin.
It was a reference to a clip in which the actor accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of surreptitiously employing “cyber warfare to strike democracies around the world,” particularly his “sworn nemesis, the United States.”
At the moment, Freeman stated, “We have been attacked.” “We’re in a war.”
The White House had previously criticized Russian sanctions, joking that no one was planned a vacation to Moscow and implying that Vladimir Putin’s regime had targeted the wrong Joe Biden.
