A Communications Team Member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Shamima Muslim, has downplayed Dr Mahamaudu Bawumia’s claims of being a brand-new president.
Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, while campaigning has told the people of Ghana to reject John Dramani Mahama because he is a second-hand president.
He describes himself as a brand new tear rubber president if voted into power in the 2024 elections.
“I have implemented 33 different policies as Vice President. The former President cannot point to one. He does not have one as Vice President. There is none. I can point to them.
“So, it means that I have passed the job as a Vice President. So, vote for me so I become President.”
“I am a Vice President so if you vote for me, you will get a brand-new tear rubber President. When you vote for the former president, you will get home used secondhand, President,” he stated.
But speaking on Accra-based Starr FM, Shamima described the NPP’s flagbearer’s claims as a fallacy that should not be given relevance.
“He is not a tear rubber president; he is a known entity. He is a core part of this administration. He is not a tear rubber president. That is one of the biggest fallacies that we should throw away. He is not a new entity, he is an old entity.
We have seen his inconsistency over time, we have seen his character, we have seen his conduct. In leadership you had one role, fix the engine. You told us that it is broken so fix the engine. You come snd under your watch and your president that engine is destroyed, where are you going to fix it from?”
