Former Parliamentary Candidate for Amenfi Central, Joana Gyan, announced her intentions to contest the position again after the political party annulled the elections that made her the Parliamentary candidate.
The leadership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) on September 5, 2024, announced the decision to annul the elections. This was in line with reliefs being sought by persons who placed an injunction on the candidacy of Joana Gyan.
To the petitioners, Joana Gyan was not qualified to contest for the election because she forged her party and voter ID Card.
But in a statement shared via social media, Joana Gyan indicated that rerunning the elections offers an opportunity to come together and build a stronger Amenfi Central Constituency.
She assured members of the National Democratic Congress and the people of Amenfi Central of her commitment to her progress, development, and empowerment.
