Amakye Dede asks government to legalise the smoking of marijuana
Ghana has legalized marijuana, but only for industrial use, so anyone caught smoking the hemp will still be subject to legal action.
Abrantie Amakye Dede, a renowned singer from Ghana, wants the government to legalize marijuana use in his country for this reason.
On Starr FM on Wednesday, he explained to Nana Aba Anamoah that the idea that marijuana users are nasty people is untrue.
“Smoking marijuana is not a sign of a horrible person. I believe the government need to make it legal,” he declared.
He did, however, emphasize that he does not smoke himself.
Samini, Ras Kuuku, Blakk Rasta, and actor John Dumelo are just a few of the celebrities who have urged for the legalization of marijuana for its potential economic advantages.
Will smoking marijuana ever be permitted in Ghana, though?
