Human Rights Court has dismissed Rev. Victor Kusi Boateng and or Kwabena Adu Gyamfi’s application seeking to restrain the member of parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa from using his two identities.
The court held that his second name Kwabena Adu Gyamfi is not an alias as he had attempted to lie his way in public but rather a deliberate separate identity.
The court awarded a cost of GHS10,000 against Rev. Kusi Boateng / Kwabena Adu Gyamfi.
In May 2023, the Accra High Court also threw out a contempt case filed against the North Tongu Member of Parliament, by the secretary to the board of trustees of the National Cathedral, Rev. Victor Kusi Boateng/ Kwabena Adu Gyamfi.
Another cost of 10,000 cedis was also awarded against the reverend.
Rev. Kusi-Boateng who is also Kwabena Adu Gyamfi had sued Ablakwa for defamation in relation to the National Cathedral project.
An attempt to serve the MP on the premises of Metro TV failed as the MP refused to receive the writ claiming he was on his way to Parliament.
It was later revealed in court that the Bailef who served the court processes on the MP was not a recognised officer of the judicial service. The case was dismissed.
