We can safely say Linda Ocloo has set a record in the annals of Ghana’s politics after she had the shortest vetting session ever conducted by Ghana’s 9th Parliament.
The Greater Accra Regional Minister-designate and Member of Parliament for the Shai-Osudoku Constituency took the hot seat, but the heat barely lasted a moment.
As Ocloo began her formal introduction to the Appointments Committee, the session took an unexpected turn.
Alexander Afenyo-Markin, the Minority Leader and ranking member of the committee interrupted her—not with a pressing question, but with warm words of acknowledgment.
“Honorable Linda Ocloo is a remarkable member of this House,” he said, offering his congratulations in what felt more like a gesture of camaraderie than scrutiny.
Bernard Ahiafor, the chairman of the committee and First Deputy Speaker, quickly followed with his own words of welcome to Ocloo’s entourage.
