Declare your assets – Mahama tells his ministers

President John Dramani Mahama has directed all his appointees to declare their assets as part of efforts to promote transparency and accountability within his administration.

Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony for his newly appointed ministers at the seat of government in Accra on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, President Mahama emphasised the importance of compliance with this directive.

“I expect all of you to begin the process of declaring your assets,” he stated. “The Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, will announce the cutoff date by which all eligible appointees should have submitted their asset declaration forms to the Auditor-General.”

He urged the appointees to perform their duties diligently, assuring them of his support. “I wish all of you good luck in your duties, and I pledge to work with you in the future,” he added.

During the ceremony, President Mahama specifically addressed John Jinapor, the newly sworn-in Energy Minister, highlighting the critical role of his ministry. “To you, John Jinapor, Ghanaians are looking for a stable and efficient power supply,” the President said.

The swearing-in ceremony marked the official assumption of office for several key ministers, who are expected to deliver on their mandates to address the country’s pressing challenges.
