2024 Elections: Why Cheddar walked out of the balloting for positions
The Leader of the New Force, Nana Kwame Bediako, on Friday, September 20, 2024, walked out of the premises of the Electoral Commission during the balloting of positions for presidential candidates contesting the 2024 elections.
According to our correspondent, Ishmael Batoma, his decision to walk out was as a result of ‘preferential treatment’ for political parties during the process.
Nana Kwame Bediako could not accept the decision for the 9 political parties to first pick the position for the order of balloting before independent candidates, hence his decision to walk away.
An explanation by Dr Hassan Ayariga, the Flagbearer of All Peoples Congress (APC) further infuriated him.
The EC however explained that it that was the norm, but the matter would be looked into in the future.
