Don’t vote for Gyakye Quayson, he can’t work from Prison – Nana Akufo Addo
The President of the Republic of Ghana has told the people of Assin North not to vote for NDC’s parliamentary candidate James Gyakye Quayson because he would be working from prison.
“I have heard him (Quayson) say that even if he is in prison, you would vote for him. Eiii! What is the use of voting for someone who would be going to jail? What benefit are we going to get from that?
“We want someone who after the election can come to me so we sit and find solutions to your challenges,” he said in the Twi dialect, as he was pointing to the candidate of the NPP for the by-elections; Charles Opoku.
“How did the president know the outcome of a case in court? is he not in contempt of court?” – Seasoned Journalist, Manasseh Azure asked
The president’s comment gives weight to suspicion that he influences the judiciary and he’s very much aware of the outcome of the court case.
The President by his remark has disrespected the courts, and its obvious President, Nana Akufo Addo would not allow for due process in the James Gyakye Quayson case unless the NPP have its way.
Should James Gyakye Quayson win the Tuesday poll, the president will jail him and if he loses, the court case would be adjourned according to opinion poll.
The President is in Assin North together with the NPP parliamentary candidate, Charles Opoku and other big wigs of the NPP including the Vice President Dr. Mahmoud Bawumia and the Majority leader Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu.
They are canvassing for final votes to decide who leads the Assin North constituency in Parliament.
Current Poll by global info analytics suggests both the NDC and the NPP are neck and neck, the elections will be decided by the over 6% undecided voters on election day.
