A lady is accused of killing her two children, stabbing her husband three times in the head and neck when he arrived home at midnight, and then committing suicide in Rongai, Kajiado County, Kenya. Police have opened an inquiry.
Accused of stabbing her husband Rodgers Andere during an altercation on June 8, 2023, Christine Karimi was rushed to the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) in severe condition.
The couple’s residence at the Taaria Apartments on Maasai Lodge Road, according to the couple’s neighbors, has been experiencing domestic problems.
After Karimi got home after midnight and started arguing with Andere, the lady fatally stabbed him three times in the head and neck.
30-year-old Andere, who was bleeding as he left the house and asked for assistance from neighbors, narrowly avoided death after they hurried him to a nearby medical institution.
Police claim that Karimi, 28, who stayed behind, closed the doors before reportedly stabbing her two children, Tyrel Agogo, 2, and Amani Otieno, 6, to death. Then she cut herself with the knife.
A witness named Namu Moraa claimed the couple, who had lived in the region for the past three years, occasionally had domestic fights.
Hussein Gura, the police commander for Kajiado North, said investigators had begun after finding the murder weapon.
Karimi and Andere have been admitted to the KNH, where they are being treated.
The City Mortuary is where their deceased children’s remains are kept.
