Vote for the best candidate and ignore money, the NPP delegates advised
Joyce Manyo, a political marketing expert at Auckland University in New Zealand, is recommending New Patriot Party (NPP) delegates to concentrate on the qualifications and skills of candidates rather than any potential financial incentives.
Joyce Manyo stated during an interview with Nhyiraba Paa kwesi Simpson on Connect FM’s Omanbapa morning show that the NPP faces a challenging assignment in the 2024 election and will require executives who can help the government implement the “Breaking the 8” mantra.
“We are in a moment almost every Ghanaian is complaining of hardships but the 2024 election is also critical to the NPP. The delegates should note this because chances are that some candidates might influence their votes with money. They should rather focus on the capabilities and messages of those who can execute the job,” she indicated.
She added that the candidates must project a positive brand image to the delegates.
“If you are a candidate, ask yourself if you are capable of doing the job. At this moment, the candidates must tell delegates what they can do for the Party. Candidates should be able to convince delegates that they have ideas on topical issues especially the IMF Bailout and have answers to questions that might emerge going into the 2024 election,” she indicated.
This weekend, the annual delegates congress of the ruling New Patriotic Party will be held at the Accra Sports Stadium today.
