16-year-old boy has been detained for harvesting human parts at a graveyard
A young Nigerian boy has been caught for harvesting human body parts from graves.
Lawal Abubakar, a 16-year-old kid from Niger State, was apprehended for allegedly attempting to exhume a corpse from a grave at Chanchaga cemetery in the state’s Minna district.
On Saturday, May 21, DSP Wasiu Abiodun informed the public that the suspect had been apprehended by police operatives from the Chanchaga Division.
During interrogation, it was discovered that the young man conspired with one Salisu, who is still at large, to obtain body parts and cloth from a deceased person’s grave for N5,000.
Abiodun revealed that the suspect committed a similar offence in Bosso cemetery last year, digging up and removing four fingers from a corpse. “He also admitted that he was instructed to get the fingers by one Sadiq and was paid N3000,” he said.
