The church is under no obligation to support any gospel musician – Socrate Safo
Many people think the church can manage or encourage musical talent to break through and succeed in their careers because of its resources, but Socrate Safo disagrees.
Socrate Safo, the National Commission on Culture’s Director of Creative Arts, disagrees with business leaders who want churches to start record labels to support gospel performers.
As the Bible indicates, the primary goal of the church is to win souls for Christ, not to manage talent.
He said that while church officials should be approached for assistance, those with gifts are not required to get it from the church.
“I think the church is there to win souls for Christ. That is the only purpose! When God called his apostles, he commissioned them to go and preach and baptize those who will believe? What else are they supposed to do?” he stressed.
Speaking to Caleb Nii Boi Showbiz927 on 3FM92.7, Socrate Safo made this statement.
Your point of view caught my eye and was very interesting. Thanks. I have a question for you.
