Chairman Wontumi takes Afia Schwarzenegger back to court for violating her release terms
Afia Schwarzenegger has been brought before the court once more by Chairman Wontumi for allegedly disobeying the conditions of her release in a prior contempt case.
Recall that Nana Ama McBrown, Aplus, and a few United Showbiz panelists joined Chairman Wontumi in suing the comedian for slander.
After discussing a court matter between Afia Schwarzenegger and Mr. Chairman Wontumi on live television, Nana Ama McBrown, Afia Schwarzenegger, Mr. Aplus, and Mr. Logic did this.
Afia received a 10-day prison term for disrespecting the court. The media celebrity Afia Schwarzenegger reportedly evaded serving her sentence despite a branch warrant being issued for her arrest.
She later apologized and turned herself in, but her attorney asked for a fine instead. She was required to sign a bond of good behavior for 36 months and pay a fine of GHC60,000 in an effort to get the prison term vacated.
She was also warned not to discuss the issue on any platform while the bond was in effect and that any violation would have severe repercussions.
Chairman Wontumi’s legal team has filed a new lawsuit in an effort to hold the socialite liable for contempt since they believe she disobeyed the court’s directives.
“The counsel for and behalf of the applicant herein will move this honorable court for an order praying the honorable court to punish the respondent herein for continuing contempt arising from respondent violation and disobedient to the terms of the judgment of this court,” parts of the statements read.
The court had also imposed GHC 60,000 fines for contempt on the other parties.
