The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has issued a strong warning to government appointees in the Tema West Constituency of the  Greater Accra Region, regarding their responsibility to support the youth in need of assistance.

Mr Kwesi Poku Bosompim, the Constituency Chairman, emphasised that all appointees, whether Municipal Chief Executives or Chief Executive Officers, must fulfill their duty to assist the unemployed youth in the constituency.

Failure to do so will result in their names being documented and presented to the presidency if the party retains power in the 2023 general elections, he warned.

Mr Bosompim made it clear that they will not tolerate a situation where the youth in the constituency suffer while there are appointed officials in place.

He issued this warning following the launch of the Tema Youth wing of the party and shared his remarks during an interview on Accra 100.5 FM’s mid-day news on Tuesday, July 5, 2023.

Furthermore, Mr Bosompim emphasised that the current jobs held by appointees were not obtained solely based on their educational qualifications but rather due to the party’s presence in office.

This statement underlines the party’s expectation that these officials should actively support and uplift the youth in their constituency.
