Our Nigerian counterparts in music are supposed to be collaborators, not competitors, according to Omar Sterling of the R2Bees.
Nigerians, according to the rapper, rely on Ghanaians to survive and enhance their music, and Ghanaians, in turn, rely on Nigerians to elevate music in their nation. He chastised the fact that most people argue over who is superior to whom.
In an interview with Abeiku Santana on Okay FM’s Ekwansodwodwo, Omar Sterling remarked that it is past time for Ghanaians and Nigerians to recognize that they need each other to expand the African music industry.
He stated that while Nigerians have done a great job of elevating Afrobeat music, Ghanaians are the pioneers of the genre, and that while Ghanaians are blessed with musical talent but lack numbers, Nigerians are also blessed with numbers but lack music, and that both countries, for that matter, need each other to elevate African music.
