Ghanaian Reggae/Dancehall artistes, Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale have been banned indefinitely from participating in the Vodafone Music Awards (VGMAs), Ghsplash.com can confirm.
This was made known at a press conference which happened at the Alisa Hotel today, Thursday, May 23, 2019.
The Board of the VGMA’s announced their sanctions to the two artists and they are as follows:
1. Both musicians are banned indefinitely from the VGMAs
2. The two are hereby stripped off of all awards won on the night and are hereby requested to return all plaques.
3. The two awards unannounced (Artist of the year and Most Popular Song of the year) on the night have been null
In other news, Shatta Wale, and Stonebwoy have granted GH¢50,000 each after both appeared before an Accra Magistrate court yesterday, May 22, 2019.
The Burniton Music Group boss has been charged with offensive conduct conducive to breach of peace and display of a firearm in public without permission whilst the Shatta Movement CEO has also been charged with a charge of offensive conduct conducive to breach of peace.
